震落了清晨滿披著的露珠，

Shake off dewdrops worn by daybreak。

伐木聲丁丁地飄出幽谷。

Knocking lumber-cutting sounds are coming out from a tranquil valley。

放下飽食過稻香的鐮刀，

Lay down the sickle well-stained with paddy scent。

用揹簍來裝竹籬間肥碩的瓜果。

Use backpack basket to carry huge melons and fruits grown amid bamboo hedges。

秋天棲息在農家裡。

Autumn is perching in farmer’s home。

向江面的冷霧撒下圓圓的網，

Cast round nets towards cold foggy river surface，

收起青鯿魚似的烏桕葉的影子。

and put away shadows of blue-bream-like Chinese tallow-tree leaves。

蘆篷上滿載著白霜，

Reed canopy is covered with white frost，

輕輕搖著歸泊的小槳。

and gently paddling is homebound little oars。

秋天遊戲在漁船上。

Autumn is frolicking on fish-boat。

草野在蟋蟀聲中更寥闊了。

Grass wilderness seemed much vaster in midst of cricket chirps。

溪水因枯涸見石更清洌了。

Creek water gets clearer in seeing bottom rocks dry up。

牛背上的笛聲何處去了，

Where has flute’s sounds from cow’s back gone，

那滿流著夏夜的香與熱的笛孔？

along with flute-keyholes soaking with scent and heat of summer-night？

秋天夢寐在牧羊女的眼裡。

Autumn dreams are in the eyes of sheep-herding girl。
