That article is

the last straw

for me as you have really

taken the biscuit

this time。 You may be

bold as brass

but that

does not wash with me

Keep up the great work!

the final/last straw (

also

the straw that breaks the camel's back)

the last in a series of unpleasant events that finally makes you feel that you cannot continue to accept a bad situation

Losing my job was bad enough, but being evicted was the final straw。

She‘s always been rude to me, but it was the last straw when she started insulting my mother。

clutch/grasp at straws

to be willing to try anything to improve a difficult or unsatisfactory situation, even if it has little chance of success

She offered to take a pay cut to keep her job, but she just clutching at straws。

Our son kept being turned down by mainstream schools for his autism。 When a school finally offered a place, we had no choice but to grasp at straws。

that (really) takes the biscuit (UK)/that takes the cake

You say that something or somebody (really) takes the biscuit when it or they have done something that you find extremely annoying or surprising

And you say she’s opening your letter now?

Oh, that really takes the biscuit/cake!

All the reviews are bad。 But hers took the biscuit/cake。

所以,如果你的外國友人獲勝了,可千萬別說“You really took the biscuit/cake!”

appalling

(as) bold as brass

with extreme confidence or without the respect or politeness people usually show

She marched into the store, as bold as brass, and demanded her money back。

Paul sat there as bold as brass and refused to leave。

doesn't wash/won't wash

to be unacceptable;used to say that you do not believe or accept someone‘s explanation, reason, attitude, etc。

Don’t think you can get credit without doing the work- that doesn‘t wash around here。

It just won’t wash with me。

I‘m sorry but all his charm just doesn’t wash with me。

brainwash

dosen't/won't wash

I don't/won't buy it!

give sb credit for sth

give sb credit for sth

to acknowledge and praise (someone for a good piece of work etc)

He was given credit for completing the work so quickly。

She got no credit for solving the problem。

credit

take credit for it

take (all) the credit

Her boss took credit for it/took (all) the credit instead。

give me credit

(to give) credit where credit's due

an expression that means that you should praise someone who deserves it, although you might dislike something about them

I don‘t especially like the woman but, credit where credit’s due, she‘s very efficient。

That article is

the last straw

for me as you have really

taken the biscuit

this time。 You may be

bold as brass

but that

does not wash with me
