黃河遠上白雲間，
Yellow River comes from the distant clouds。
一片孤城萬仞山。
Lonesome city stands out at tall mountain。
羌笛何須怨楊柳，
No need to play “Willow Tune” on Qiang pipe。
春風不度玉門關。
Spring wind doesn’t go past Jade Door Pass。

黃河好像從白雲間奔流而來，玉門關孤獨地聳峙在高山中。
何必用羌笛吹起那哀怨的《楊柳曲》去埋怨春光遲遲不來呢，
原來玉門關一帶春風是吹不到的啊！
