Good afternoon， ladies and gentlemen！ I am greatly privileged to deliver a speech here， thank you。 Today， I am gonna to talk about when we are confronted with some unknown areas， we should take a prudent attitude， practise by trial and error， and explore the rule。 Now I would like to begin with a story。

Vaguely remember when I was sixteen years old， I was admitted to the best senior high school in the city。 My math teacher has a remarkable gift for making his classes vivid and sparkling。 Therefore， I was passionate about the math， and I was always the number one。 But in the second year of high school ， we had to divide classes。 As a result， our math teacher switched。 And the learning content of the math is more abstruse， I could barely understand what he said， at that time， I once doubted whether my IQ was not good。 Time seemed to have passed a month， our monthly examination is approaching。 To my utter astonishment， I got my first failing grade。 A sense of sorrow overtook me。 At the same time， my teacher could not believe his eyes and let me go to his office。 I stood before him with my head hanging extremely low。” What happened to you？ ” My teacher asked in a gentle tone。 I murmured with tears trickling down，” Sorry， I just felt like I could not understand what you said。” On seeing my tears， my teacher stroked my hair affectionately and comforted，” Admittedly， when I was your age，I was also lost and my math is far from perfect。 Hence， I read the text word for word， and then I looked for a lot of exercises， and I summarized the rules by myself， and I was totally admitted in the math and got a high score。 Maybe you can have a try。” At that moment ，I realized that what I had been lacking is the ability to explore and find the rules by myself， and the previous study has always been dependent on my teacher。 So is life。 I nodded my head and said in a choked voice，” Thank you， next time I will not let you disappointed。” I followed what the teacher said ，and ultimately I made a marvelous job。

Since the reformed and open-up， China has made world-beating achievements in science， technology and economy。 Apparently it is the result that Chinese people firmly practise the sentence “cross the river by feeling for the stones”。 By means of taking a prudent attitude， practising by trial and error and exploring the rule， we can definitely make steady and speedy progress in the future！ Thank you！
