“國歌”不是“National song”，“我是中國人”也不是“I'm a Chinese.”（附100個傳統文化英文詞彙 ）

常說“此生無悔入華夏，來生還在種花家”，“國歌”這麼莊嚴又重要的詞彙，大家都要會哦，也是日常必會詞彙啦，但是你知道怎麼翻譯嗎？還真的不是“national song”。當別人問你是哪國人時，我們要如何用英語來表達“我是中國人”呢？是I‘m a Chinese還是I’m Chinese？今天就跟著老師一起學習吧~

英語口語實用表達

國歌

National songs

，可以指能激起愛國情懷的歌曲，比如我們常說的紅歌《歌唱祖國》《東方紅》這樣的，但並不是指國歌。

國歌的正規翻譯是：

National anthem

anthem /ˈæn。θəm/ 國歌；讚歌；頌歌

例句：

A song that has special importance for a particular group of people， an organization， or a country， often sung on a special occasion

對特定群體、組織或國家有特殊重要性的歌曲，常在特殊場合演唱

國歌具有法律地位，正式場合演奏時還有禮儀上的要求。

國旗

國旗

的英文很簡單就是

The national flag

或者

The flag of China

。

但

五星紅旗

的英文很容易錯：可不是：five-star red flag（✘）five-star = 五星級的a five-star hotel = 五星級賓館

正確的說法是這樣的哦：the Five-starred Red Flag

（✔）用五個星星裝飾的紅旗（starred：用星裝飾的 ）

例句：

The national flag of the People‘s Republic of China is called the Five-Starred Red Flag。

中國的國旗是五星紅旗。

祖國

英語形容“祖國”，最常用的有這兩個詞：

Motherland:

祖國，有更濃烈的感情色彩

Homeland

： 祖國， 國土，比較中性。也會用於專有名詞，比如美國國土安全部叫The Department of Homeland Security。還有美劇Homeland。

祖國一般不用“country”：Mother country ❌

Home country ❌

例句：

Motherland Never forget our duty to our motherland。

牢記我們對祖國應盡的義務。

“我是中國人”怎麼說

（✓）I’m Chinese。（✕）I‘m a Chinese。

是有文字證明的，從2018年開始，只有I’m Chinese才是正解，I‘m a Chinese不僅過時，還是錯的。

其實也很容易理解，Chinese

做形容詞時“具有中國國籍的”。

例句：

I’m Chinese。我是具有中國國籍的。

（我是中國人~）

Chinese做名詞時“中國人”

（集體名詞，沒有單複數），所以不能直接說I‘m a Chinese。

如果用a,記住這個公式：I'm a Chinese+名詞

例如：

I’m a Chinese football player。

我是中國的足球選手。

但如果你和別人介紹說，I‘m a Chinese person就有點怪，大家只是不知道你的國籍，誰還看不出來你是個人？總之，記住，我是中國人=I’m Chinese。

“中國漢字”怎麼說？

我們都知道，英語單詞是English words，那“中國漢字”不會是Chinese words吧？！當然不是“中國漢字”有個獨特的名字。

Chinese characters

character：字元，Chinese character：中國的字元（漢字是象形文字，由一個個特殊字元組成）

例句:

Chinese characters contain an abundant amount of Chinese culture and wisdom of the ancients。

中國漢字蘊含了豐富的中國文化和古人的智慧。

“中國夢”到底怎麼翻譯？

首先，肯定不是China‘s dream，因為“中國夢”的提法並不是想強調一種“所屬關係”，而是強調每一箇中國人內心中的夢想，這事實上是一種“內在屬性”，所以用

Chinese dream

較為合適。

有同學會提出，在某些地方看到China dream，這種形式又是一個什麼含義呢？

China是一個名詞，我們經常看到以China打頭的名詞片語，比如：China Unicom（中國聯通）、China Daily（中國日報）、China Mobile（中國移動）等。

你會發現：上述這些例子本質上都是品牌、屬於專有名詞，無法拆分，只能整體理解。

據說美國有一艘豪華遊輪的名字就叫“China Dream”，這個沒問題，因為它屬於一個品牌，是專有名詞。

而咱們的“中國夢”， 並非一個商業性的品牌，而是指千千萬萬中國老百姓追求幸福的夢想，所以翻譯為Chinese dream更為合適。

在今年的政府工作報告的官方譯文中，中國夢也是翻譯成“Chinese Dream”的：

為決勝全面建成小康社會、奪取新時代中國特色社會主義偉大勝利，為把我國建設成為富強民主文明和諧美麗的社會主義現代化強國、實現中華民族偉大復興的中國夢不懈奮鬥！
