此書英文版翻譯自2015年出版的德文版，中文版於2021年1月上市，名稱為《自動駕駛－技術法規與社會》。由戴姆勒－賓士基金會贊助的專家團隊編撰而成，4位主編分別是，
Markus Maurer：布倫瑞克工業大學汽車電子方向教授，知名汽車安全方向專家。
J。 Christian Gerdes：斯坦福大學機械工程系教授，汽車研究所主任。
Barbara Lenz：德國宇航中心交通研究所所長。
Hermann Winner：達姆施塔特工業大學汽車工程研究所所長，德國自動駕駛行業宗師級人物。
此書全方位研究了自動駕駛技術發展歷史及當前概況、對法規的要求、機器倫理、社會接受度等內容。近年來我國自動駕駛、輔助駕駛技術發展迅速，法律法規和社會問題凸現。這些問題對後續技術研發和產品規劃相互影響作用，此書可給予從業者一定的參考和啟發。
