關於療效的英文表達

中譯英一例

中文：患腕優21， 良13，一般3， 差2。

英文：Of all diseased wrists， 21 had excellent outcomes， 13 had good outcomes， 3 had fair outcomes， and 2 had poor outcomes。

是不是感覺outcomes重複得太多了？

英文不喜歡重複，所以我們可以省略前面的outcomes，

只保留最後一個outcomes

：

Of all diseased wrists, 21 had excellent, 13 had good, 3 had fair, and 2 had poor outcomes.

我們也可以把outcomes作為主語：

The outcomes were excellent in 21 diseased wrists， good in 13 diseased wrists， fair in 3 diseased wrists， and poor in 2 diseased wrists。

同樣，為了避免重複，我們可以

只保留第一個diseased writsts

：

The outcomes were excellent in 21 diseased wrists, good in 13, fair in 3, and poor in 2.

一個常見的坑

10個患者（12個患肢）。。。。治療效果優5，良4，一般2，差1。

如果表達成：Of all patients， 5 had excellent， 4 had good， 2 had fair， and 1 had poor outcomes，是否正確？

在這種情況下，我們需要做下加法，到底這些優、良、一般、差是針對患者而言，還是患肢而言。

5+4+2+1 = 12

顯然，治療效果是針對患肢而言。

所以應該把Of all patients改成Of all affected limbs：

Of all affected limbs, 5 had excellent, 4 had good, 2 had fair, and 1 had poor outcomes

這句話也可以表達成：

The outcomes were excellent in 5 affected limbs, good in 4, fair in 2, and poor in 1.

療效的分類

如上所述，療效一般可以分為：excellent（優）、 good（良） 、 fair（一般）、poor（差）。

如果使用response（或remission），可以這樣分類：

complete response、marked response、moderate response、mild/slight response、no response。

對於中文裡常常出現的“顯效和有效”，如果表達成marked response and response並不是特別恰當。

因為從字面上response是包括marked response的，而“有效”和“顯效”並列出現時，“有效”是指比“顯效”差一點的療效，所以“顯效和有效”可以寫成marked response and moderate response。
